Our tree is still up!! And all the rest of the decorations have been sitting on our kitchen table/chairs/floor since Thursday!! You’re ahead of the game, if you ask me
Dana, I love you for this comment. Thank God we are not the only ones. Actually, our decorations are spread all over our entry way–not put away in their boxes. I felt I had to get the tree out to the curb the night before trash collection. Needles were dropping everywhere.
I didn’t have a tree this year, but I still say you’re doing just fine. Everyone knows my authority is key. I like the closeup of the very gorgeous balls.
So glad you like the photo. Sara and I thought it was fun, too.
We usually keep our (tiny) tree up all year and use it as a festive nightlight. Occasionally, we’ll take it down on November 29th-ish and then re-set it up again December 1st to get into the holiday spirit. January 9th is no issue at all!
Wait, you take the tree down on the 29th of November only to put it up again 2 days later? That sounds like a lot of trouble. You’re joking, I assume.

Our real tree came down before New Year’s. The fake one is still up until Sunday. Just pretend that you and Sara are using the Julian calendar this year, and you’ll be fine. Christmas was only three days ago then.
I thought about that exactly when you posted your piece about Christmas in January. Julian calendar–all the way, Sista!
At least you’re taking them down. If they were just now going up, I’d say at this point better never than late!

Hi, Sara and Kathy. We didn’t put up a tree this year, as we were headed down to Georgia. However, felt some nostalgia looking at this photo…it’s such a tradition-rich moment, the careful handling of ornaments as you pack them away.
You are so right, Kathy. Handling these precious ornaments brings back so many wonderful memories of places we’ve been and the people we love.
